4、TGV Atlantique 325
TGV Atlantique 325 is the holder of the rail World Speed Record, set at 515.3 km/h (320.3 mph) on May 18th 1990 following a series of high speed runs in excess of 500 km/h. For the occasion, numerous modifications were made to 325, the most obvious of which was the removal of seven middle trailers, which brought the trainset down to two power cars and three trailers. Additionally, trainset 325 was equipped with higher capacity traction systems, larger wheels, aerodynamic accessories (including a rear spoiler wing!), a reinforced suspension, and of course a full complement of engineering instrumentation.
The Train Simulator Speedworks reproduction of TGV Atlantique trainset 325 shows the trainset as it was on the day of the world speed record, with the original TGV logo and the old SNCF "noodle" logo. Performance values are accurate and based on technical accounts of the record runs. It will be possible to run this train in excess of 500 km/h. All exterior modifications are modeled, including suspension modifications, aerodynamic add-ons, and large wheels.

Note how the power cars ride higher than the rest of the trainset, on their 1050 mm wheels. The aerodynamic bogie shields are faithfully reproduced

During the record runs, trailing power car 24050 sported an aerodynamic spoiler, a somewhat unusual feature for a train

For lower drag, the spaces between trailers are covered with a rubber membrane and the roof insulators have been removed

325 powering up to 500 km/h. Note the downward extension of the front airdam, made necessary by the ride height of the larger wheels

A single, instrumented GPU pantograph remains on 325. The white tape attaching the sensor wires to the pantograph is represented on the model
