1996年4月1日,新中国第一列快速列车“先行号”列车(K1/K2)次以南京至上海区间2小时48分的速度拉开了中国铁路提速的序幕,也开启了上海铁路局管内特快的时代。

沪宁铁路运营初期,每日客车,沪宁间3对,沪常、沪苏间,上海南翔间,南京常州间各1对,共7对,快车全程7时26分,停靠约10站。1933年京沪特快全程缩短为6时20分,1935年冬京沪特快全程缩短为5时45分,1937年1月 ...
