安徽沿江城市现在去往长三角真不方便，没有多少路程却要到南京转车很不便，许多人只好选择汽车，火车站客流在逐步萎缩。比如芜湖2012年春运客流同比是下降的，与没有去往上海的特快列车有关，安徽沿江城市客流主要是苏锡常和上海周边地区。
